Robert G. Riley, Jr.
Founder and Chairman

Riverhead Resources Founder and CEO is a visionary with a unique background and lifelong interests in both agriculture and the environment. For more than 30 years Riley has been connecting people, businesses, and organizations to identify, address and solve problems.

The seeds for Riverhead Resources began in 1986, when Riley purchased a small company, Feed Energy, and grew it into the premier supplier of energy solutions for the livestock industry. As the 21st century dawned, Riley recognized biofuels would create a world of unease in feed markets. In 2006, Riley formed FEC Solutions to provide innovative corn oil marketing solutions to the biofuels industry. Then, in 2009, Riley invested and began serving as an adviser to Des Moines start-up Decision Innovation Solutions.

Through his leadership with these entrepreneurial organizations, Riley developed a skill set to bring innovative solutions to everyday business issues. In January 2010, Riley founded Riverhead Resources as an opportunity to help other entrepreneurial leaders achieve their business' potential. With a "Servant Leadership" mission, Riley's vision is that Riverhead Resources will work with entrepreneurs to help them get everything they want out of their businesses.

Riley is active in many professional, state and community organizations including a gubernatorial appointment to the Iowa Department of Economic Development; the American Feed Industry Association, where he is on the Information Technology Committee; election to the Board of Directors of the Iowa Poultry Association; Trustee Chairman of The Nature Conservancy of Iowa; and member of the Board of Directors, Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. Riley frequently speaks to groups presenting a broad and balanced business perspective. Recently he has led discussions about the impact of the booming biofuels industry on the food supply.
